Dublin city centre was an eery post-apocalyptic wasteland yesterday afternoon as the city braced itself for the excesses of ex-tropical storm Ophelia.

I would have taken more photos but for fear of being caught up in it. Remarkable.

The fruit and vegetable markets kept running in the morning.

College Green at lunch time was deserted

Temple Bar was bare!

Spectacular rainbows over the inner city all day
