I am Thomas Brunkard. I was born and raised in Dublin, and I have never been much good at staying in one lane.

Me, myself & I
My professional work lives at Brunkard.ai, where I research and write about artificial intelligence adoption, governance and digital transformation, and build practical tools for organisations trying to use AI responsibly. It has grown into a proper body of research, writing and projects, so I keep it on its own site. Brunkard.com is everything else.
Over the years the same curiosity has taken me into philosophy, into family history and parish records, into Irish social history that can span four centuries or more, onto a stage with a guitar in front of a few thousand people, and more recently into AI and digital transformation.
To me these are not separate hobbies so much as the same habit. Reading a census return, composing a piece of music, mapping a broken business process, writing about AI governance: underneath it is always the same question. How does this actually work, and how could it work better?
Some of those interests turned into careers. Others are simply things I enjoy and have no intention of monetising. You will find them here: music, history, genealogy, photographs, older projects and the occasional thought that did not fit anywhere else.
If you arrived from Brunkard.ai, welcome. This is the person behind the articles. If you have followed the music or the history over the years, welcome to you too.
Thanks for stopping by.
