Fellow guitarists!

I recently upped my string gauge to 11s on my Les Paul.

When I had a strat I used to do the same but an absence of playing acoustic instruments caused me to slip down to 9s and then grudgingly back up to 10s.

Anyway – can I humbly recommend that if you own a Les Paul or a guitar with a short scale that you try 11s or higher?

The tonal difference and the increased ability to play with dynamics (something electric guitarists are often poor at) is fantastic.

I play a hybrid style (pick and my fingers) and I’ve found myself getting more control over both. The music has come alive.

Thus endeth today’s polemic.
